I found out yesterday that Meghan at Ancient Musings has awarded The Writing Greek the Fabulous Blog Award. How fun is that? Recipients have to first name five things they are obsessed with, and then name five other blogs they think are fabulous.

After hasty consideration, my 5 obsessions:

  1. Travel – I love new places and just get the urge to go on occasion
  2. Reading and writing and all things books
  3. No weeds – if they land in my yard, they’re exterminated!
  4. Texas Rangers – someday they’ll win a playoff series …
  5. Photos – landscape and wildlife are my favorites

My obsessions aside, today, I salute the following fabulous blogs:

  1. Dark Star Discovery – Marty writes Greek stories and poetry. Fabulous!

  2. Magical Musings – Different authors, each with different voices and clever analogies. Fabulous!

  3. Sarah Lawrence – I always look forward to the photos accompanying Sarah’s posts. Fabulous!

  4. Barrie Summy – Full of witty posts, she already garnered the award, but I can’t resist: Barrie also hosts the monthly Book Club. Fabulous!

  5. Roots in Myth – PJ takes time to post pics along with her posts, and more importantly, she confessed on her blog to having owned the same Swingline stapler for 32 years. Nuff said. Fabulous!

  1. Thanks, Dan! Obsessions! Great one. I'll definitely play along (probably tomorrow).
And I love posts with pictures. When I don't have any to go along with the words, I have to get creative.

  2. Thanks, Dan! I passed this on to my co-bloggers at Magical. Obsessions are fun!

  3. DA, congratulations on your award and well deserved. I enjoy Barrie’s blog too. I’m going to sound like a horrible curmudgeon (guilty!) but I don’t do blog awards. Only posting weekly, I’m very picky about what I write, and I’ve never been any good at following directions.

I do love travel, reading, writing and photos too. Nice to get to know you better!

I’ll add you to my follow list (you should add a follower widget) so I can keep better track of your blog. I’ve enjoyed your comments too.

  4. PJ - Your posts with pics definitely add an extra dimension to your blog, giving it a personalized look. I hope to do the same and incorporate more photos going forward.

  5. You're welcome, Edie. I'm sure MM can come up with some clever obsessions (not to add any pressure).

  6. Hi Sarah - No worries at all on being curmudgeonly. I don't think that at all. I understand completely why you wouldn't want to do so.

Thanks, by the way, for suggesting the follower widget. I'll have to look into that. It seems that I did have one at one point. Hmmm ... where did it go, I wonder?

  7. Congrats on the award, D.A. Very cool and thanx for the shout out to MM. Are we required to do something? Bow? Curtsy? LOL

Oh, wait ... we have to come up with obsessions? Hmmm. Let's see. Four women + obsessions. Not a problem.

  8. That's funny, Liz. I know MM will have some good ones. Although, I've decided all writers naturally have a nifty set of obsessions. Maybe the next go around, we'll specify non-writing obsessions. :-)

  9. Dan - I agree that your blog is fabulous and this is a well-deserved award. I got this one a while back (it is posted on my sidebar) but your recognition of my blog is much appreciated.
